The Pictures Don’t Do It Justice

We needed a place that was central in the Sonoma Valley and could accommodate our party (bit of a mini-family reunion). The house fit the bill perfectly, and had an amazing outdoor kitchen to boot.

The bedroom layout worked well both for a family with 2 small children (own bathroom, large master bedroom), as well as adults traveling alone. There was tons of open space that was perfect for entertaining and for encouraging large groups to congregate. I can’t even begin to describe the craziness of the outdoor kitchen and its brick oven. We could have slept out there, it was so comfortable (my daughter wanted to move there).

The owners didn’t lack a single attention to detail–from showing us the best way to use the outdoor brick oven (including infrared thermometer) to having propane heaters for those cooler nights. The owner was there to greet our party upon arrival and show us around. The kitchen was fully stocked. We made crepes for breakfast and didn’t doubt that the kitchen would have all the necessary tools, which, of course, it did. I’ve never met a pan that I liked in a rental home, until this one. The property epitomizes, “vacation home.”

There’s a wonderful bench overlooking a winery (which we coincidentally ended up touring–highly recommended) that was perfect for reading and plenty of room to wander and just relax (the kids made boats out of kindling and sailed them down a small stream). It’s a short drive to a wonderful market stocked with the best selection of local produce and products, and downtown Sebastopol, with its great shops and restaurants. You wouldn’t have to wander far to see the best that the Sonoma Valley has to offer from this place.

The house and its owners exceeded our expectations in every possible way. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. We’ll definitely be back.

I cannot even begin to describe my experience at the WineBerry Lodge! An amazing experience in no way gives it justice. My stay exceeded all possible expectations by far, and then some!

From the moment I called and spoke to Heidi (the owner) about my plans to throw my best friend a bachelorette wine country weekend, I felt so comfortable, she was so friendly, and I already felt taken care of. As stressful as planning a bachelorette party can be, she put me at ease immediately and the whole booking process could not have been easier. I felt like I had already had the time of my life before I even stayed due to Heidi decorating the house for us, her husband planning the feast of a lifetime for us, and her being so available for my millions of questions.

From the moment we arrived I cannot even begin to describe the warmth of Heidi and Brent and the fact that the pictures do not even do the house justice! It is absolutely gorgeous! From the huge fabulous kitchen, to the immaculately clean and beautifully decorated rooms, to the most incredible back yard I have ever seen! The out-door kitchen area is so much bigger than I had imagined and there is even a small waterfall/stream behind that gives off the most relaxing and calming essence. The spa of course was glorious and was sparkling with fresh mountain water :)

An added bonus to the house is the pizza night dinner-which I highly recommend! I was blown away that not only were there the most delicious gourmet pizzas (and the most insane amount of awesome toppings) but the appetizers were out of this world! From crab cakes to fresh cured salmon to even salmon sashimi Brent had caught that day! I have a running joke with my girlfriends now that when we are at a sushi restaurant we say to ourselves “was this caught today?!” He has ruined us! We also had a pizza making contest but it was easy for us because we basically just told him what we wanted-we could be super lazy and enjoy the benefits of calling it yours!

I think this house is perfect for any friend gathering, a couples gathering, a family gathering, or even a romantic night away with your loved one! It is a place that can work for any occasion and with the hospitality and flexibility of Heidi and Brent I think they can make anything happen!

I am so grateful and feel so lucky to be one of the first guests at Wineberry lodge! I will definitely be back if not with the girls, with my family for sure!

The PERFECT homebase

My group of seven stayed here for 4 days in celebration of my 30th birthday and I can’t say enough good things about the property or the owners. The pictures on the site do not show how great this place is. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the house is super well maintained. Both the outdoor and indoor kitchens were stocked with every pot, pan, dish, utensil, gadget etc. you can imagine, even some spices, olive oil, which we really appreciated. Every morning my girlfriends and I would go and drink our coffee either by the little waterfall or on the bench overlooking the vineyards while the guys cooked breakfast for us in the outdoor kitchen. During the day our group would split up and either go out road biking or wine tasting. Bruce (our neighbor) suggested some really nice bike trails to go on. It worked out perfectly because the house is in the BEST location, it was really easy to jump over to Russian River, Dry Creek, Alexander Valley or Bodega Bay. Some nights we cooked and some we went into town to eat. Andy’s Market and Pacific Market are both super close and made it easy to stock up on groceries. We knew we wanted to make pizza at least one night so Brent pre-ordered us some pizza dough from a little bakery in Forestville. We wouldn’t have known to do that and if you’re going to make pizza here that is TOTALLY the way to go. The wood-fired oven was surprisingly easy to use – pizza night was definitely the best meal of the whole trip. And every single night we were plugging the iPod in and getting in the hot tub. We nicknamed it the “Disco” because of the lights and music (HA!) Beds were really comfy – my friend who slept up in the loft area said it was more comfortable than his bed at home. Our king bed in the master bedroom was a really nice mattress. Showers had tons of water pressure, they stocked lots of towels, although we did do a couple loads of laundry while we were there, so the washer and dryer were nice to have. The only thing that would have been good to know ahead of time is, while the house gets good cell service, there wasn’t a wireless internet connection. It wasn’t a problem for me, but one of my guests had to go into Coffee Catz in Sebastapol to get some work done. Not a big deal, just good to know. The house is really secluded and tucked away from everything so that makes sense. Brent and Heidi are the best hosts you can every imagine! I cannot thank them enough for opening their home to us. Best stay ever!

Amazing time in a beautiful home

Stayed here for a wine tasting trip with 7 friends for two nights, and immediately knew that it would be too short. We all had an amazing time and are planning to return here for a longer stay.

The best part of the house is the outdoor kitchen with the pizza oven, it’s a great way to gather with friends at the end of the day and with enough room for everyone to be participating and/or hanging out during the cooking process. It gets a bit chilly at night, but there was a really nice heat lamp that help everyone keep comfortable.

The house had everything we could ever need: a really well stocked kitchen, 2 dishwashers, tons of linens and towels for everyone to use, spices + basic condiments, lots of lounge space, huge TV in the living room, TV outside and in every room, board games, and more than enough sleep space for everyone including a hidden loft room. I really liked all the small touches in the house, like bath salts in the bathroom The owners were very sweet and welcoming, they brought us some fruit and wine for our stay, which made us immediately feel welcomed.

I also liked that the property was well enclosed, there was a fence all the way around with a gate that was easy to use to let ourselves and guests in. We felt really safe leaving our stuff outside, which added to the element of relaxation.

The property is really close to town and to a Safeway, very convenient for shopping and getting last minute supplies. There were also tons of wineries to visit, although we all agreed that next time we just want to relax at the house and enjoy the property.

What a FANTASTIC 50th Birthday!!

Our 7 day stay at the Wineberry Lodge was incredible! We were looking for a place that would accommodate our family for a 50th birthday celebration, it fit the bill perfectly! Brent and Heidi were incredible hosts and have really spent time making sure all your needs will be met. They had great suggestions and even took the time to find a Hot Air Balloon Company for us….that was awesome by the way. The Wineberry Lodge is impeccable…we were blown away by the amenities provided and how well taken care of everything is. The description of the lodge is right on but the pictures do NOT do justice for this beautiful home. The outdoor kitchen is fabulous and as I look back on our pictures it would seem we spent most of our time there. The Hot Tub is a perfect accessory and was greatly appreciated. We had great fun and made many, many great memories. The Lodge is convenient to markets and of course WINERIES!! We even found some beautiful running paths and had alot of fun at the 9 hole golf course just down the road. We just can’t say enough about Brent and Heidi, you will be greeted with smiles, handshakes and laughter. From our initial contact to our final day they were available to answer questions promptly and go out of their way to make sure our needs were met. It truly was ” A Home Away from Home” Brent & Heidi again Thanks!! Hope to see you soon Troy & Shelly
